Old Times Revisited
Wow, that's about all I can say at this moment. I enjoy Facebook and the friends it has brought back into my life from as far back as elementary school. Well, today, I find a friend, a very good friend, from when I was in high school in Davenport,Ia. Her name is Mary, she was a friend back in the day, and I am so glad today she still is a friend. I met her through another friend Brandi and at that time Mary was dating a guy named John, can't even remember his last name. Guess it never mattered. At any rate, i was dating Brandi but really wanted to date Mary, the whole time John was wanting to date Brandi, it was confusing now as it was then.
Well one day we went to the local getaway which probably still is, Credit Island. We as in the four of us, played near an old tank, and a soccer field. I remember vividly trying to talk to Mary while Brandi went off with John about something. Long story short, John did Mary very wrongly and I had broken up with Brandi due to the fact I was about to go back to Houston. I never did get to tell Mary how I really felt.
Till tonight, it was a weight lifted off my chest. I let her know how I really felt, how upset I was about how John treated her and whatever else I could remember from that day. I remember we liked each other but never saw it through cause I had left. We talked for almost 4 hours on messenger and I have to admit, it brought back some great memories from high school and the people I knew from that time. The carefree times of doing whatever we wanted cause we still lived at home. I miss them day, but then again, I am glad they have passed. That is what tonight was, a visit to the time I remember most, and I smiled.
I am glad to have found you both Brandi and Mary, as well as the others on my Facebook page. To see that after almost twenty years, I still have friends. It means more to me than anyone can imagine. That is my little rant on this corner of the web, that after so long apart with no communication, you can still have friends who will give you their ear and much more, as if you were still in high school.
I guess you could say, be nice to others, because you never know, you may see them again adn it could mean all the world to you. Life is precious, treat it as such. Till next time.
